D is for DATE...WHEN was the source created? WHEN was it last updated?
Sometimes it isn't as important to have a source that was written recently; for example, if you are researching a historical topic, you can still find quality information in older sources. However, sometimes it is very important to use up-to-date information, such as when you are researching science/technology, current events, culture, or statistics. Search for a created, published, updated, or revision date. This date is often at the bottom of a website page or on the home page. Articles typically include the date they were written directly under the article title. The best sites are updated regularly. If a website has many dead links, that could mean it hasn't been revised in a long time.
